Titi Ogufere

 Titi Ogufere is an internationally acclaimed interior architect and creative director whose work moves fluidly across high-end residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces. She founded Essential Interiors Consultancy in 2000, a multidisciplinary studio based in Lagos and London, committed to creating intelligent, emotionally resonant environments grounded in cultural heritage and global aesthetics. 

With over two decades of practice, Ogufere’s approach blends contextual sensitivity with refined materiality. Her studio’s portfolio includes private residences, executive offices, and branded hospitality interiors across Nigeria, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Dubai. Ongoing commissions include Pullman Hotel and M Gallery Hotel, both located in Nigeria’s capital cities, where Ogufere is reinterpreting hospitality through a contemporary African lens. 

Essential Interiors Consultancy offers full-service interior architecture—from concept development to FF&E sourcing, procurement, and installation—delivering spaces that are timeless, functional, and crafted with exacting attention to detail. 

Beyond practice, Ogufere plays a defining role in shaping the African design landscape. She is the Founder of the Interior Designers Association of Nigeria (IDAN) and the African Council for Interior Architects and Designers (ACIAD). In 2020, she became the 21st President of the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI)—the first African and the youngest to assume the role. She is a Fellow of IFI, a distinction awarded to exemplary contributors to global design. 

Ogufere frequently serves on international juries, including the Dezeen Awards and the Lagos x Paris Accelerator Program, and is regarded as a cultural force in contemporary African design. Through her studio’s work and thought leadership, she continues to advocate for new narratives in spatial experience, rooted in identity, craftsmanship, and innovation.
