Tekla Evelina Severin (1981, Gävle, Sweden), more known as @teklan, founded her own multidisciplinary studio in 2015. She is based in Stockholm, Sweden but works mostly abroad.
After graduating from Interior Architecture and Furniture Design at Konstfack University of Arts and Crafts in Stockholm in 2010, she worked as an interior architect on both large public spaces and high-end private residences at various architecture studios before starting her own multidisciplinary journey and studio through colours.
In the first few years she focused on photography and set design. She held her first solo photography exhibition in Guatemala City and has since exhibited in Buenos Aires, Berlin, Los Angeles, Madrid, New York, Reykjavik and Stockholm.
From 2018 onwards Tekla began working on larger interior and exhibition designs as well as dedicated product designs and colour collaborations under the label teklan editions. She has collaborated with numerous international furniture, apparel and outdoor brands. Some notable projects include collaborations with Danish Montana Furniture and Italian Very Simple Kitchen, which won the International Elle Decoration Award EDIDA for Best Kitchen Designer of the Year in 2022. Her work with Norwegian Heymat also received the NYCXDESIGN award for Best Residential Flooring with the Mix Teklan mat in 2021.
Her interior and exhibition designs have been widely recognized. In 2023 she created Dimensions of Colour, a 250-square-meter exhibition in the entrance of Stockholmsmässan for Formex. In 2022 she designed An Apartment of One’s Own for Spanish Sancal at Salone del Mobile during Milan Design Week, a 56-square-meter personal and fully customized home interior homage. That same year she also created the exhibition design for the tile collaboration Färgblock for Italian company Quintessenza at Cersaie, which won the ADA Awards in 2023. She was awarded the Swedish Elle Decoration Award EDDA for Interior Designer of the Year in 2022.
Her recent and upcoming collaborations include a first small release of a project with Ikea in CMF design and product design for home electronics, as well as exhibition designs for Stockholm Furniture Fair in 2025 with a 28-square-meter booth for Slalom and a 240-square-meter booth for Johanson Design.
