Ben Van Berkel

Ben van Berkel studied architecture at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and at the Architectural Association in London, receiving the AA Diploma with Honours in 1987.

In 1988 he and Caroline Bos set up an architectural practice in Amsterdam, extending their theoretical and writing projects to the practice of architecture. The Van Berkel & Bos Architectuurbureau has realized, amongst others projects, the Karbouw office building, the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam, Museum Het Valkhof in Nijmegen, the Moebius House and the NMR facilities for the University of Utrecht.

In 1998 Ben van Berkel and Caroline Bos established a new firm: UNStudio (United Net). UNStudio presents itself as a network of specialists in architecture, urban development and infrastructure. Current projects include FOUR’ a large-scale mixed-use project in Frankfurt, STH BNK by Beulah in Melbourne, the Chungnam Art Museum in South Korea and the Wasl Tower in Dubai. With UNStudio he realised amongst others the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Arnhem central Station in the Netherlands, the Raffles City mixed-use development in Hangzhou, the Canaletto Tower in London, a private villa up-state New York and the Singapore University of Technology and Design.

In 2018 Ben van Berkel founded UNSense, an Arch Tech company based in Amsterdam that designs and integrates human-centric tech solutions for the built environment.

Alongside his practice, Ben van Berkel has lectured and taught at many architectural schools around the world. From 2011 to 2018 he held the Kenzo Tange Visiting Professor’s Chair at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, where he led a studio on health and architecture. Central to his teaching is the inclusive approach of architectural works integrating virtual and material organization and engineering constructions. In 2017, Ben van Berkel also gave a TEDx presentation about health and architecture. He is also currently a member of the Taskforce Team / Advisory Board Construction Industry for the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Enrique Vela

Enrique brings over 15 years of design and project management experience on corporate, hospitality and residential projects. His creative approach to design and leadership within the industry has impressed clients and peers alike.

Enrique’s portfolio includes spa, restaurant, casino and bar projects around the world, as well as projects for major hotel operators ranging from small boutique outlets to large-scale resorts. His residential experience spans from single-family homes to the interiors of the Central Park Tower, the western hemisphere’s tallest and most luxurious tower. He has also worked on commercial and workplace projects in Qatar, New York and Los Angeles, among others.

Prior to joining Olson Kundig, Enrique worked for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), ICRAVE Design in New York, Wilson Associates in Los Angeles and most recently as Principal and Design Director for Rottet Studio in Los Angeles.

VUDAFIERI SAVERINO PARTNERS is a design firm specialized in architectural and corporate design projects based in Milan and Shanghai.
The firm is run by partners CLAUDIO SAVERINO and TIZIANO VUDAFIERI and has a workforce of about forty including designers, administrative and logistical staff.
Its approach is based on both architectural culture and sensitivity to current trends in design, fashion, and art, dialectically and transversally leveraging our experience and knowledge in these sectors.

Over the past fourteen years, we have completed around 40 Retail Design Concepts Worldwide, and over 700 individual store designs (Louis Vuitton, Lanvin, Givenchy, Jimmy Choo, Roger Vivier, Tod’s, Kenzo, Pucci, Moschino,  Delvaux, Fossil, Buccellati and others).

Major architectural projects by Vudafieri Saverino Partners include residential, private and public, commercial and industrial buildings, while interior design projects are mostly focused on residences, art galleries and offices.
In recent years the firm has worked throughout Europe, in the Unites States, China, Japan, Asia, the Middle East, Russia, and Eastern Europe.

After having experienced around 14 years since the first store designed by VSP was built in East Asia in January 2012 Vudafieri Saverino Partners opened its Shanghai – based Company, first foreign design office of the company. VSP Shanghai branch is focusing from design development to working drawings and Project Management for the projects located in China and Far East.

Matteo Ward

Matteo Ward studied International Economics at Bocconi University and Business Sustainability Management with the University of Cambridge. He is today the CEO and co-founder of WRÅD, innovative start-up and design company dedicated to sustainable innovation and social change, winner of the Best of the Best RedDot Design Award, finalist at the Green Carpet Challenge Awards, selected by the ADI Design Index and finalist at the Compasso d’Oro 2019. Prior to co-founding WRÅD he pursued a 6-year career with Abercrombie and Fitch where he covered the roles of Senior Manager in Germany and co-chair of the A&F Global Diversity and Inclusion Council. Matteo is also a member of Fashion Revolution Italia and academic lecturer. He is often called as a public speaker at international forums, including the United Nations (UNECE framework on traceability), TEDx talk, WIRED Digital Day, Fashion Tech Berlin and Fashion Sustain Berlin.

Kelly Wearstler

Founder and principal of Kelly Wearstler design studio, she is an American designer creating multi-faceted, experiential residential, hospitality, commercial and retail environments as well as expansive collections of lifestyle product designs and brand collaborations. With the demonstration of provocative concepts and expressive narratives signature to her extensive body of work, Wearstler is internationally recognized with distinctive design awards and numerous publications. A multi-layered, stimulating sensory experience is at the center of Wearstler’s design approach. Through an exploration of materiality, color, forms and an intuitive juxtaposition of contemporary and vintage, architectural and organic, graphic and instinctual, she curates a wealth of experiences into every space. Wearstler believes that honoring history, location and architecture is imperative to pushing the boundaries and challenging the rules. One of the key forces behind the rise of the designer hotel in the early 2000s, Wearstler is currently designing for a new age of elevated residential hotel living with a distinctive vision of authentic cultural immersion and site-specific design. Wearstler received her academic training in interior, architectural and graphic design and is the author of five design books.
