Johan Ejdemo

 Johan Ejdemo is the Head of Design (Global Design Manager) at IKEA, bringing four decades of experience in design and product development. His journey began in 1984 as a cabinet maker, followed by a successful period as an independent designer starting in 1997. 

Since joining IKEA in 1999, Johan has held a series of creative roles across the organization and contributed to several high-impact projects, from shaping product development to curating collections, driving innovation initiatives and building platforms that explore the most meaningful aspects of life at home. In January 2022, Johan stepped into his role current role. 

As Head of Design, Johan leads IKEA’s design direction with a focus on driving purposeful movements through design, reinforcing the brand’s unique design identity, and embedding circular design thinking to support IKEA’s overall ambition to become a circular business.
