Jakob Lange

Jakob Lange joined BIG in 2003 and was named Partner in 2010.

Jakob has been instrumental in many of BIG’s most high-profile buildings and technology projects. He successfully led the design and development of Copenhill, an innovative waste-to-energy plant in Copenhagen that doubles as a ski slope; The Mountain, an architectural alchemy of residential and parking in Copenhagen; and Urban Rigger, a floating student housing building at the Copenhagen Harbor.

Jakob also heads BIG Products, BIG’s product design division, and collaborates with industry-leading companies to create product designs that utilize sustainable materials and advanced production methods, including customized furniture, lighting and innovative building systems to support the studio’s work from the small details to the BIG picture.
