Gabriele Chiave

Gabriele Chiave, Creative Director (1978), knows no boundaries. As a lifelong observer of the world around him, Gabriele is driven by the comprehensive nature of design and a desire to ignite meaningful interaction between product and consumer. Born to diplomat parents in Metz, he has lived in France, Dakar, Caracas, Buenos Aires, Rome, Milan and now makes his home in Amsterdam. These diverse resident experiences enable him to bring a global perspective to design like no other.

Gabriele holds a Baccalaureate in Economics and Society and studied at the European Institute of Design in Milan, Industrial Design Academy. After his studies, he worked in Milan for several design studios and renowned Italian companies. In those years he also participated and organized several design Workshops with Alessi. These experiences helped Gabriele master the subtle nuances and delightful balance between form and function, industry and art, structure and experimentation.

Gabriele Chiave joined Marcel Wanders studio in 2007, the leading Product and Interior Design studio located in the creative capital of Amsterdam. As Creative Director of the studio he oversees all projects from Product Design to Interior Design to Art Direction for some of the most renowned international design brands such as Audi, Kartell, Poliform, Flos, Cappellini, B&B, Baccarat, KLM, Magis, MAC, Target, Louis Vuitton, Alessi, Christofle, Marks&Spencer, Moooi, sbe, Mondrian, Kameha, and many other international companies and hotels.
