An object inspired by the multiform energy of a project
Spanish designer Alberto Sánchez and Eduardo Villalón from MUT Design designed the ADA 2017 award. A limited-edition glossy white ceramic and copper finished anodized aluminium three-dimensional object which explores the anamorphic inspired by the Archiproducts Design Award concept.
Archiproducts chose the young creatives of the Valencian studio for their distinct attention to the emotional impact of a product, which is the unmistakable feature of all their creations Their work philosophy immediately appeared within the spirit of the Archiproducts Design Awards which focuses on the “culture and the magic of the project”, essential in the collaboration of designers and brands to materialize an idea.
MUT designed an object inspired by anamorphic figures. It plays with the concept of perspective illusion which cannot exclude the observer’s point of view. A three-dimensional cube that does not lean on a conventional angle but almost as if suspended from the surface, creating a trompe l’oeil which allows to observe from multiple angles.
The different sides represent the cooperation between designer and brand whereas a purposely missing side makes the user feel to be part of the creative and production process. The Archiproducts Design Award concept is therefore enclosed in an object that expresses the curiosity in understanding every phase of design, from different perspectives.
“It’s the first time we work with Archiproducts; it was a truly exciting project and we hope we can cooperate more in the future. The fact that one of our works was chosen to reward colleagues makes us really proud!”, MUT Design
MUT Design was founded in 2010 by Alberto Sánchez and Eduardo Villalón. Their headquarters is in Valencia. They are focused on the redefinition of classical concepts of objects of daily use. The multidisciplinary approach and their passion, shared with the Archiproducts team, easily led them to the creation of an object that materializes an idea, a perfect synthesis of the identity of the Archiproducts Design Awards.
