Archiproducts Design Awards 2020 Open for Entries!

The Awards that celebrate the excellence in international Design are back

The Archiproducts Design Awards are back to once again set the benchmark for prime quality and innovation in the world of design.

Initiated in 2016, the contest is now in its fifth year and has already become a constant that vouches for creativity and innovation by encouraging new collaborations and generating synergies between designers and brands.

This year’s edition is special, not least because many brands and manufacturers worldwide are still struggling to come to terms with restrictions necessitated by a pandemic rather unimaginable only months ago. However, motivation is high and everybody is doing their best with the possibilities, contributing new projects and designs, maintaining production and keeping up communication. In that respect the new edition is marked by even greater enthusiasm and meant to encourage and support work that required additional strength, ingenuity and sacrifices.

The call for entries 2020 is officially open!

Last year’s edition saw over 700 products by 400 brands from all round the world. 100 were awarded for their originality, as well as for quality and aesthetic of the project, by a heterogeneous and multidisciplinary jury composed of architects, designers, journalists, photographers and creative directors from various countries.

For the 2020 edition already 60 jurors have accepted our invitation. Among these we are proud to mention Studio LibeskindUNStudioMatthew McCormickMarcio KoganPiero LissoniMecanooQuincoces DragoDiego Grandi, as well as Rossana Orlandi, studiopepeFabio Fantolino and Edoardo Tresoldi. As first-time jury members we welcome Zaha Hadid Architects principal Patrik SchumacherFormafantasma’s Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin, Giovanna Castiglioni, Vice President and General Secretary of the Achille Castiglioni Foundation, DIMORESTUDIO‘s Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran, graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister from NYC, Hana Hakimo for Stella Collective from Australia, and the photographer Omar Sartor. Our multifaceted international panel covers complementary fields of expertise in architecture, design, fashion, art and communication.

Also this year the award trophy, designed by Spanish studio MUT Design, will wear the distinctive mark of De Castelli’s unique metal oxidation and layering process. Once again the brand from Treviso will be official partner of the Archiproducts Design Awards and responsible for manufacturing the sculptural object inspired by the shape of the Mobius strip that represents the underlying idea of the ADA.

This year De Castelli’s oxidized metal is paired with the natural stone by ADA first time partner Salvatori, who contributes a new price trophy that, from this edition on, will be handed exclusively to the designers of the winning products. Entrusted with drafting this trophy was one of the most renowned names in international design, Michael Anastassiades. His distinctive traits and Salvatori’s natural stone make the perfect attire for an object destined to become the new symbol of the Archiproducts Design Awards.

Samsung Climate Solutions is confirmed as the main partner of the Archiproducts Design Awards. This collaboration started with the 2019 edition and will continue this year to support design, technology and innovation.
Also to be continued is the collaboration with Essent’ial, the Italian brand that stands for environmental sustainability and has contributed to last year’s edition with the ADA Night Party bags, by now a must-have object for design addicts!

Applications for the ADA 2020 are open now!

Brands can submit 1-5 products pertaining to various categories, from furniture to lighting, from contract to construction.
The deadline for participation is set for September 14, 2020. A long-list with the finalist competing for the ADA 2020 will be published in October. Winners will be announced in the first week of November.
