Cecilia Avogadro

CA is an architect, with a PhD in interior architecture and museum design.

She worked for several years (2000-2005) in Cini Boeri’s studio, where she met both an architect and a master.

She edited the book Cini Boeri, architetto e designer and wrote a doctoral thesis on the theme of hospitality in extreme conditions, with reference to bivouacs and high-altitude mountain refuges.

She subsequently opened her own studio, focusing primarily on residential architecture.

She has built single-family homes and interiors, primarily for private clients. Passionate about opera, a ski mountaineer, she studies and teaches yoga.

CA’s design approach: space must help construct meaning in the trajectory of human life.

Beyond the obvious resolution of fundamental practical and functional issues, the project must speak of poetry, become metaphysical, bear witness to tradition and convey a shared future.

The process always begins with listening, with the intuition of the intangible genius loci.

The journey is a winding road; no path is ever linear, never entirely.

Constraints are the project’s banks, the client the riverbed. The project flows within these boundaries.Logic and harmony as alpha and omega. Establishing hierarchies, dividing space, re-establishing paths.

Seeking light, both natural and recreated. Giving shape to devices, furnishings, weighing volumes.

Discovering matter, allowing the senses to awaken within it.

Architecture, like art, yearns for fusion with the divine; it must simultaneously sustain the material world and the spiritual world of those who experience it.
