Marco Poletto and Claudia Pasquero run ecoLogicStudio in London’s East End. There, they experiment with the possible interrelationships between the natural world and new technologies and materials. Founded in 2005 and based in London and Turin, the firm researches bio-digital design to define a new ‘ecology’ of space and human behaviour.
This expanded approach to design – from the micro to the macro – is part of an experimental practice in which the projects and installations by the creative duo become true interactive laboratories.

Among their most famous projects are the Urban Algae Canopy, a structure incorporating algae for energy production and air purification, and the Bio-Digital Canopy, a series of installations exploring the interactions between built environments and living organisms.

Architect and designer Wayne Turett founded the Turett Collaborative – a multidisciplinary architecture, design and graphic arts studio – in New York in 1991.

Always sensitive to environmental issues, Turett, this year’s ADA 2024 juror, decided to build his vacation home in Greenport, Long Island, according to the dictates of sustainable design. Unable to find a builder who could meet the Passive House requirements, Turett acted as general contractor. He opened his home to the public at the 15th International Passive House Open Days.
