Between new entries, returns and confirmations, here are some jury members for the ninth edition of the ADAs
Between new faces, returning members and continued contributions, the ninth edition of the Archiproducts Design Awards (ADA) jury features some notable names.
Lorenza Baroncelli of MAXXI | National Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome is a new addition to the jury, while Hector Esrawe returns after missing the last two editions. Giorgio Donà of Stefano Boeri Interiors continues his role as a member of the jury.
Submissions for the awards, organised by Archiproducts to celebrate global design excellence, are now officially closed.
The jury, made up of almost 40 influential, multidisciplinary figures from the world of creativity, will now begin to evaluate the entries.

Lorenza Baroncelli (born 1981) is an Italian architect, urban planner, urban regeneration theorist and curator. She is currently Director of the Department of Contemporary Architecture and Design at MAXXI, the National Museum of 21st Century Art in Rome. In addition to her role at MAXXI, she is a visiting professor at the Vienna University of Technology and teaches in the Master of Art programme at the Luiss University in Rome.
From 2018 to 2022, Baroncelli was artistic director of the Milan Triennale under Stefano Boeri. During her tenure, she oversaw the coordination of artistic, communication and fundraising initiatives. In particular, she inaugurated the first permanent Museum of Italian Design, curated by Joseph Grima, and the XXII International Exhibition entitled “Broken Nature: Design That Takes on Human Survival”, curated by Paola Antonelli, Senior Curator of Design at MoMA.
From 2015 to 2018, she served as Councillor for Urban Regeneration, International Projects and Relations, Territorial Marketing and Urban Furniture in Mantua.
Between 2015 and 2016, Baroncelli worked as Associate Special Projects at the Serpentine Galleries in London, coordinating their architecture programme.
She has also advised the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, and the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, on urban and cultural strategies and collaborated with Stefano Boeri on the new Tirana Master Plan.
In 2015, she was the scientific director of the exhibition 15 Rooms at the Long Museum in Shanghai, curated by Klaus Biesenbach (Director of MoMA PS1) and Hans Ulrich Obrist (Director of the Serpentine Galleries), with exhibition design by Herzog & de Meuron.
In January 2015, she also co-founded White Hole, a micro-gallery in Genoa, Italy, with Joseph Grima, Antonio Ottomanelli, Marco Ferrari and Elisa Pasqual. The gallery explores the visible and invisible forces that shape contemporary society and landscapes, combining art practice with journalism.
Baroncelli’s contributions extend to international platforms. In 2014, she co-curated the Swiss Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale with Hans Ulrich Obrist under the direction of Rem Koolhaas. The pavilion presented the work of prominent artists and architects, including Herzog & de Meuron, Atelier Bow-Wow, Elizabeth Diller, Tino Sehgal, Olafur Eliasson, Philippe Parreno, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Carsten Holler, Ko Joeng-a and Liam Gillick.
In 2013, she coordinated the Master’s programme in Urban Visions and Architectural Design at Domus Academy in Milan. From 2011 to 2012, she directed the architecture studio Giancarlo Mazzanti in Colombia, contributing to several public building projects. These projects were part of a wider programme initiated by Sergio Fajardo, the mayor of Medellin, aimed at regenerating public spaces to reduce organised crime in the city.
Between 2009 and 2011, she collaborated with Stefano Boeri on various research and urban planning projects, including the development of the Concept Plan for Expo Milano 2015 and research sponsored by the Habitação Secretariat of São Paulo, which focused on the transformation policies of informal settlements worldwide.
She graduated with honours from the University of Rome3, where her thesis explored the relationship between Bogotá’s urban development and the presence of armed conflict in Colombia. Her articles have been published in several international magazines, including Domus, Abitare, Huffington Post and The New York Times. She has also given public lectures in many countries, including England, Italy, Albania, China and Brazil.
Héctor Esrawe on the ADA 2024 Jury

Born in Mexico City in 1968, Héctor Esrawe studied Industrial Design at the Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA), graduating in 1992. In 2003, he founded Esrawe Studio, a multidisciplinary design practice that he continues to lead.
Esrawe is a proponent of collaboration and disciplinary interaction, which has led him to work with other studios, urbanists, artists, curators and set designers. This philosophy also led him to co-found several initiatives such as EWE, VISSIO and MASA, all of which promote Mexican collectable design.
Esrawe’s work has received numerous awards and honours, including nomination as an Honorary Fellow by the American Institute of Architects.
He has been recognised as one of AD Germany’s Top 100 Creatives in 2021 and AD Mexico’s Top 100 Creatives in 2022.
His awards include the World Special Prize for an Interior by Prix Versailles 2021, Interior Design Studio of the Year 2020 by Dezeen Awards and Best of Year Awards by Interior Design magazine.

His work has been exhibited in galleries worldwide, including Objective Gallery in China and New York (2022), Collectional Gallery in the United Arab Emirates (2021), Oliver Gustav in Denmark (2023), Les Ateliers Courbet Gallery in New York (2024), and Masa Gallery in both Mexico and New York (2022).
His work can also be found in private collections and the permanent collection of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.
Giorgio Donà on the ADA 2024 jury

Architect Giorgio Donà is serving on the ADA jury for the third consecutive year. He graduated in architecture from the IUAV University of Venice in 2011 and began his career in 2012 alongside Stefano Boeri. In 2018, Donà and Boeri co-founded Stefano Boeri Interiors, a multidisciplinary studio based in Milan.
The firm works both nationally and internationally, developing projects and research on different scales and in different fields, with a focus on interior, exhibition and product design.
Among Donà’s most important collaborations are projects like the exhibition design for Buccellati’s Galateo. A Journey into Conviviality, Timberland’s Floating Forest installation for Milan Design Week 2022 and various interior design projects. Notable examples include La Residence for the Cartier flagship store on Via Montenapoleone in Milan and the Aula del Futuro project for Napisan Italia.
Donà has also participated in numerous international competitions, winning awards and honourable mentions. For example, his Venice City Vision urban regeneration project was recognised by a special jury chaired by Bjarke Ingels of BIG Architects. His work has been featured in books and catalogues, including Atlas: New Practices for Better Waste Management (Comieco, 2018), and in international magazines such as Cityvision Mag (Issue 4, 2011).

His projects have also been published in Interni, Elle Decor Italia, IoArch and Area magazines, and in catalogues for major exhibitions, including Fundamentals (Venice Biennale, 2014), Reporting from the Front (Venice Biennale, 2016), the ADI Design Index for the Across Chinese Cities – Beijing project, and Homo Faber: Crafting a More Human Future (Marsilio, 2018).
In 2021, Donà co-curated the special edition Supersalone, organised for the Salone del Mobile.Milano. In 2023, during Milano Design Week and Interni Magazine’s Fuorisalone, he designed the event installation Swing for Amazon Italia and the Living Vibes experience for iGuzzini.
Currently, Giorgio Donà continues to work on projects and research on different scales and in numerous fields. His work spans interior design, exhibition and event design and product development.
