Here are the first names on the jury for the ninth edition of the Archiproducs Design Awards
The first jury members for the new edition of the Archiproducts Design Awards (ADA) have been announced. They include Dutch architect David Gianotten, OMA managing partner, Chinese architect and designer Li Xiang, and Italian interior designer Daniele Daminelli, founder of Studio 2046.
Now in its ninth edition, the ADAs continue to stand out for their importance and prestige, celebrating global design excellence and innovation.
Registration for this edition is now officially open.
Companies can compete for the title of “Winner”, which, like every year, will be awarded by a prestigious and diverse international jury.
The ADAs’ common goal remains unchanged: to offer unique insight into the encounter between designers and brands, highlighting the creativity, innovation, and synergies that transform ideas into design objects.
David Gianotten, managing partner of OMA, ADA 2024 juror
David Gianotten
Dutch architect David Gianotten, managing partner of OMA, joins the ADA 2024 jury.
Founded in the 1970s by Rem Koolhaas, the Rotterdam-based Office for Metropolitan Architecture is one of the world’s leading architectural practices. Gianotten joined the team in 2008, opened the Hong Kong office in 2009, and became a partner in 2010.
After seven years of leading OMA projects in the Asia-Pacific region, David Gianotten, a member of the ADA 2024 jury, returned to the Netherlands to lead OMA globally.
He is currently overseeing the design and construction of several projects, including the Egyptian Museum 2024 in Turin, Italy; Bajes Kwartier in Amsterdam, the conversion of a large 1960s prison complex into a new neighbourhood; VDMA in Eindhoven, the transformation of a disused industrial site into a multi-purpose urban centre; and Metropolitan Village, a residential building in Taipei.
David is also responsible for the design and construction of Apollolaan 171 – an office building in Amsterdam (2023); the Taipei Performing Arts Center (2022); Potato Head Studios (2020); WA Museum Boola Bardip in Perth (2020); and Prince Plaza in Shenzhen (2020).
Architect and designer Li Xiang on the ADA 2024 Jury
Li Xiang
Chinese architect and designer Li Xiang will also serve on the ADA 2024 Jury.
In 2011, Li Xiang founded X+Living Architectural Design, her design practice in Shanghai. She has brought together an interdisciplinary team that now includes 70 collaborators with whom she pursues projects in architecture, art, fashion, and industrial design (the latter through her second company, Xiangcasa).
In a rapidly urbanising country like China, where numerous architectural firms are responding to the call for new buildings ready to soar into the skies of the nation’s metropolises, Li Xiang stands out for her bold approach to planning, characterised by vibrant colours and Escher-like games of perspective.
Daniele Daminelli, founder of Studio 2046, ADA 2024 Jury Member
Daniele Daminelli
Interior designer and founder of Studio 2046, Daniele Daminelli, is also an official ADA 2024 judge.
“I like the idea of bringing fragments of the past into the future,” he says, imagining contemporary objects and environments that combine industrial production processes with traditional and artisanal methods.
Studio 2046 is an interdisciplinary architecture, interior, and product design studio based in Treviglio, Lombardy. Founded in 2017 by Daniele Daminelli, the office aims to create versatile interiors that are both nostalgic and contemporary, with an eye towards the future. Daminelli’s passions for Asian cinema, fashion, and European baroque art are reflected in all their projects, brought to life using modern and innovative technologies.
