Mirror Gate, Pilar Zeta
Pilar Zeta, a member of the ADA 2024 jury, is a multimedia artist from Argentina currently based in Mexico City. She blends philosophy, mathematics, symbolism, mysticism, and surrealism with the aesthetics of postmodern architecture. Zeta is renowned for her distinctive style, which integrates physical and digital elements into what she calls ‘mystical futurism’.
Her work is heavily influenced by ancient traditions, cosmology, and metaphysics, depicting surreal and minimalist landscapes where the past and future converge. The bold use of colour is one of the hallmarks of her work.
In October 2023, Zeta achieved a significant milestone with her large-scale creation ‘Mirror Gate’ at Art D’Egypt’s ‘Forever is Now III.’ This limestone and metal installation, set against the stunning backdrop of the Giza pyramids, reflects her passion for ancient Egypt.
Beyond her installations and artwork, Zeta collaborates with globally renowned music artists such as Coldplay, Lil Nas X, Katy Perry, and Camila Cabello. Her contributions range from album artwork to directing music videos and live performances. Her 2021 Grammy nomination for the art direction of Coldplay’s ‘Everyday Life’ and a bronze Clio Award for directing Camila Cabello’s music video ‘Don’t Go Yet’ testify to her diverse talents.
Hannes Peer on the jury of the Archiproducts Design Awards 2024
Originally from Bolzano but now based in Milan, Hannes Peer, a member of the ADA 2024 jury, is an architect and all-around artist known for his eclectic style. His work is characterised by a powerful iconographic identity driven by continuous exploration of colours and materials and the cross-pollination of various artistic languages and disciplines.
His signature interiors – spanning residential, retail, hotel, and commercial – are authentic palimpsests of eras and moods nourished by urbane suggestions. He references Sottsass, Mollino, Gabriella Crespi, Portaluppi and Nanda Vigo, merging revolutionary 1960s and 70s experiments with the transgressive spirit of his contemporaries, first and foremost Rem Koolhaas.
