More than forty selected architects, designers and creatives from more than ten countries will play a pivotal role in determining the winners of the prestigious Archiproducts Design Awards 2023. Joining them on the ADA 2023 jury are Talenia Phua Gajardo, Nikos Karaflos, and Chris and Oliver Laugsch.
For this year’s ADA edition, Talenia Phua Gajardo, the CEO and founder of The Artling, an online gallery based in Singapore, makes her debut as a juror. The jury also welcomes two prominent representatives from the international hospitality sector. Chris and Oliver Laugsch, the founders of Welcome Beyond, an online platform for boutique hotels and holiday homes, and Nikos Karaflos, the creative mind behind the transformation of Dexamenes Seaside Hotel, a former distillery on the shores of the Peloponnese, join the ADA 2023 jury for the first time.
Their inclusion highlights the evolving landscape of tourism, which increasingly aligns with the realms of architecture and design. This shift is giving rise to more discerning establishments with meticulously crafted concepts.
The ADA 2023 longlist will be released in October, followed by the announcement of the winners in November.
The winners will be celebrated at the prestigious annual party that brings together not only the ADA 2023 jury but also designers, winning brands, press and influencers in Milan.
Talenia Phua Gajardo on the ADA 2023 Jury
Talenia Phua Gajardo
Talenia Phua Gajardo, this year’s ADA 2023 jury member, is a contemporary art and design influencer. She holds an architecture degree from Central Saint Martin in London and previously worked with Zaha Hadid Architects. In 2013, she took a bold step by founding The Artling, a revolutionary online platform dedicated to contemporary art in Asia. Her vision proved to be a success. The Artling has become a go-to destination for art lovers, providing consultancy and sourcing services to prestigious clients such as LVMH and Google.
Nikos Karaflos on the ADA 2023 jury
Nikos Karaflos
Nikos Karaflos, this year’s ADA 2023 jury member, is the visionary behind the Dexamenes Hotel, a former distillery transformed into an industrial-style boutique hotel (and more) on the Peloponnese coast. With a background in engineering and computer science, Karaflos held senior positions at K-studio Architects until 2016. During his time there, he honed his vision and gained valuable skills in architecture and design.
His bold vision for Dexamenes Seaside Hotel was a turning point in his career and life.
After travelling and gaining experience abroad, Karaflos brought his vision back to his homeland, transforming a former distillery into a hub for hospitality, cultural activities and conscious wellness. This project has become a beacon of innovation in the industry, proving that hospitality can be more than just a service but an immersion in the soul of a place and its history – an experience of beauty in all its facets, from art to wine to local culture.

Berlin-based brothers Chris and Oliver Laugsch return to the jury of the Archiproducts Design Awards for the second year running. They turned their passion for exploring and discovering the world into an extraordinary venture.
