The sculptural prize for the designers of the winning products is produced by Salvatori and designed by Michael Anastassiades
The designers of the winning products of the Archiproducts Design Awards 2021 will receive a monolith in black Marquina marble designed by Michael Anastassiades and produced by Salvatori, confirming the company’s partnership with the ADAs for the second year running.
Introduced during the 2020 edition, the icon-object tribute to designers is confirmed for this year’s new edition. The project is the same – a marble monolith inspired by the award’s logo, but in new total black.

The sculptural object conceived by the Cypriot designer and carved from Salvatori stone is stripped of the whiteness of Carrara marble to make way for bold Nero Marquina, a deep black stone crossed by irregular veins of pure white alternating with greyish accents.
Salvatori reaffirms its commitment to the ADAs, which continues with enthusiasm in 2021. “We are happy to continue our collaboration with Archiproducts and Michael Anastassiades for the next edition of the Archiproducts Design Awards,’ says CEO Gabriele Salvatori. ‘This year, the designer trophy will be in Nero Marquinia, a stone that I’m sure will increase the perception of the material quality of this iconic element and maintain its clean and timeless design.”
Anastassiades’ design is inspired by the ADA Awards logo, resulting in a monolithic object that appears to be in delicate balance, an austere yet light and airy solid marble block carved into the shape of a hexagonal prism tilted on one side and engraved on the top. The marble’s soft texture, faceting and inclination interact with light, creating an ever-changing play of shadows to enhance the Salvatori stone.
“If I had to describe the award designed by Michael Anastassiades, I would use three words: strength, courage and dedication,” says Enzo Maiorano, Archiproducts Co-founder and Art director. “Salvatori marble has become a metaphor for perseverance, a sculptural object that can communicate a tangible message, whose signiﬁcance will expand and remain unchanged over time.”
The object is destined to be timeless – simple yet complex. It is born from a deep understanding between designer and brand. The trophy is the physical manifestation of the Award’s underlying principle: the importance of the alchemy between designer and producer, and between creativity and technique that gives life to unique objects that can improve our daily lives.
Each brand can nominate from 1 to 5 products, from Furniture to Lighting to Contract to Building.
The deadline for participation is September 10, 2021.
In October, a Longlist of the proposals chosen to participate in the Award’s final phase will be announced.
Winners will be proclaimed during the first week of November.
